Rev Dr Kate Coleman is a British Baptist minister, author, and leadership development specialist who has spent more than thirty-five years equipping leaders across the church, charity, voluntary, and business sectors. Born in Ghana before moving to England, she came to Christian faith while studying biochemistry and pharmacology at Southampton University, and was drawn into leadership soon afterward — first as a church elder in a congregation that initially opposed women leaders, an experience she has described as a "baptism of fire." She became the first Black woman accredited as a Baptist minister in the United Kingdom, the first Black woman President of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (2006–2007), and the first Black woman Chair of the Evangelical Alliance Council (2012–2014).
