Kate Coleman and Cham Kaur-Mann guide leaders through five themes designed to form courageous, discerning leadership for complex times.
We believe leaders are transformed from the inside out, not simply trained in outward techniques. Over more than twenty-five years of leading and ministering together, we have seen how easily gifted people can become blunted by institutional maintenance, survival instincts and borrowed expectations.
Our work offers a safe, reflective place where you can face self-defeating patterns, discern what God may be forming in you through your present challenges, and recover the compass of your calling. Whether you lead in the church, the charity and voluntary sector, public service or business, we are committed to helping you become your very best self and make the greatest contribution you can.
Welcome to this space. Take your time, move through the themes slowly and allow God to do the deeper work beneath the surface.
Kate Coleman & Cham Kaur-Mann
Everything Kate and Cham teach, from programmes/learning journeys and keynotes to coaching conversations, returns to five interconnected themes. They are not the whole of the work, but they supply much of its foundation and language.
These themes are doorways, not steps. Enter through any one and you will soon find yourself in the others. Begin with calling, and questions of identity emerge; explore relationships, and you meet power, agency and transformation. Each theme has its own page, anchored in writing or a resource from Kate and Cham's wider body of work.
“Faith sits at the center of the compass called purpose and guides our choices, our decisions, and our actions, even in the face of our adversities and moral dilemmas.”
Rev. Dr. Kate Coleman
Metamorph: Transforming Your Life and Leadership, Chapter 7Next Leadership was founded by Rev Dr Kate Coleman, and is now co-directed with Rev Cham Kaur-Mann. Together they bring decades of experience in ministry, leadership development, coaching and organisational change across the church, charity and voluntary sector, public service and business.
Their partnership is shaped by distinct cultural backgrounds and ministerial journeys, and by different experiences of leadership, identity, power and belonging. These differences widen what they see, sharpen the questions they ask and strengthen their ability to help others lead across cultures, through complexity and in times of change.
Kate is the founder of Next Leadership and an author, leadership development specialist, coach, mentor and speaker. She was the first Black woman to be ordained as a Baptist minister in the United Kingdom. She went on to serve as President of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later as Chair of the Evangelical Alliance Council.

Overcoming Self-Defeating Behaviour in Work and Ministry
Kate Coleman names seven patterns that can quietly undermine women's leadership, and shows how to break their hold.
Drawing on biblical insight, leadership experience and the lived realities of women, the book offers practical pathways to greater freedom, resilience, healthier boundaries and authority.

Take the test →Twelve invitations to slow down, reflect and be formed
Rooted in our five themes, these twelve short reads have been shaped to accompany you through a year of leadership formation. Use them for personal reflection, as a group devotion or to open a deeper leadership conversation.
Each reflection invites you to attend more closely to Scripture, leadership practice and the interior work through which leaders are formed. Journey through them in sequence across the year or begin with the one that speaks most directly to the season you are navigating now.

Leadership is never only about what we achieve. It is also about who we are becoming, and how that becoming shapes the people, cultures and systems entrusted to us.
These books and contributions bring Scripture, lived experience and leadership practice into conversation, inviting deeper reflection, faithful action and lasting transformation.

Finding Courage, Calling and Leadership in Unexpected Places
Some lives are hidden in plain sight.
Beginning with Hagar—the woman who named God El Roi, “the God who sees”, Cham Kaur-Mann revisits familiar biblical stories through fresh cultural and leadership lenses.
Esther, Martha, the Samaritan woman, the daughters of Zelophehad and others emerge not as supporting characters but as women of courage, agency and God-given calling. Their stories invite us to recognise what, and whom, we may have overlooked in life and leadership.
