Seeing the Story the Bible Is Really Telling
Every day, two kingdoms compete for our allegiance.
This three-session study, presented in four parts, traces the biblical story of God’s Kingdom confronting empire, from Genesis to Revelation, through patriarchs, matriarchs and prophets, and ultimately to Jesus and the community formed in His name.
Together, we learn to recognise the patterns of empire, notice where God’s Kingdom is already breaking through and practise a way of life shaped by blessing, justice, service and hope.
Session One · Part 1
Learn to See Differently
Discover the two contrasting ways of ordering the world that run throughout Scripture. Beginning in Genesis, explore God’s vision of shared dignity, generous stewardship and human flourishing and learn to recognise the values of empire that compete for our allegiance.

Learn to Recognise Empire
Trace how broken communion gives rise to shame, blame, domination and the desire to make a name for ourselves. Learn to recognise the patterns of empire within the world, our institutions and our own hearts, while holding onto Scripture’s promise of renewed creation.

Patriarchs, Matriarchs, Prophets and Promise
Follow the Kingdom promise from Abraham and Sarah through Israel’s developing story. Discover how God works through imperfect people, forms a community called to bless the nations and refuses to abandon His Kingdom project, even when His people lose their way.
